studio insulation--where to buy?

I believe you need a room in a room construction if you want to isolate sound. If want want to improve the acoustics of your room then you might want to check this: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html

I thought this could be usefull in case you misunderstand the purpose of a room in a room.

on topic, does any1 know how do reduce bass output from going downstairs, as my room is above the living room u can see the problem hehe ;)

I believe that's the purpsose of a room in a room. If you're lucky, you can reduce the bass with a basstrap, but I'm not sure if it will be good enough.
