Record Shops in Holland...

Greetings... I will be travelling to Holland in late August and was hoping to find out some information about record shops... I see there is a list in the "foreigner's guide" here, which is a great help already, but I'm looking for something quite specific - USED stores! Most of the vinyl I'm seeking is vintage, '95-'98 sounds. Usually the major stores listed anywhere deal mainly with new material which is, oh, not too interesting since you can get that stuff anywhere online. Is there a great store for finding used trance records - specifically GOA trance? Thanks all!

PS even some help on finding a real Goa party would be sweet... a friend told me they don't happen too often in Holland. :(

I think you should PM Eye Riz, she will know more about these things (right?)

GOA is very uncommon in Holland, I have an acquaintance that's going to a GOA festival in Germany in August.try the German forum! ;)

Have fun while you're here :)

For future reference (should anyone be searching for the same thing) record stores in Holland are generally not worth going to if you're looking for psychedelic or underground anything. Only store in the lowlands that has competent selection is Kairoo recs in Mechelem, Belgium. In fact, for psy-heads travelling around that part of the world I'd say a stop-over in Belgium is essential - the scene there is REALLY nice, not too huge, wicked music, friendliest people, great vibes...

Well, not in holland unfortunatly. But we only stayed in Amsterdam (SKETCHY) and Maastricht (boring!)... it was a little unfortunate, but what can ya do? Belgium was *amazing* however - we stayed in Leuven and had a wicked time there, went up to a small Goa party out in the country at some lodge/banquet hall, really amazing experience. I chock it up to bad luck on the holland side of things (should have spent time outside of Amsterdam, and Maastricht was just supposed to be a one-night stopover but we grew ill and spent a lot of time in the hotel)... A'dam would certainly be fabulous for party animals however :) we just aren't crazy like that.
