there are still copyright issues no matter what you're argument is. |
although technically you are right. i think that the reason for these laws are to keep artists from loosing sales to people copying and distributing cds to everyone that they know. with this in mind, i do not feel that testo4ever broke the spirit of the law, even if the word of it was. tijs is not loosing any sales to tiesto4ever because the people he is distributing to would never buy a tiesto cd, or any other trance/dance/electronica cd for that matter. so yes, technically, copywrite laws may be broken, but the spirit of the law is not.
on the other hand, there are circumstances where the word of the law can be preserved even if the spirit of the law is broken (like loopholes and sh*t so that those knowledgeable of the law can break it and still be totally legal). but that is a problem i have with laws, and a different thread entirely. |

Even though you're a tranceaddict you still can't read i guess. Read sweeney's reply, listen to nyana and then try to post a reply. |
What's supposed to mean? What part of "I'm not going to comment on the musical contents of Nyana" can you not read? I'm facts on copywrite issues and my opinion on the differences between a mix cd and a live set....once again, what part of that is unclear? Why start a thread asking people's opinion if you aren't prepared to listen to what they have to say. I made a suggestion in that you substitute the mix cd format for a live set, simple.
I read what Sweeny posted the first time round and this is still my reply. |

| Thanks for posting your reply THREE times. I think you miss understood me. First, i apreciate your reply regarding using a live set and is duely noted. You asked me why i started a thread and didn't read/listen. I'm more just shocked at the extremely negative feedback i've been getting and expecting more of a postive atmosphere regarding the distrubtion of trance. What's your fav cd right now? |

hey norris, this is not meant to be an attack on you, i totally accept your opinions, it is ok not to like tiesto. i was just wondering...how do you like MIKE and not tiesto?! tijs spins tons of MIKE, and i love him for it because i have loved pretty much every MIKE track that i have heard, from push to solar factor. anyway, i love MIKE, love tiesto, and will accept you for not liking tiesto, i was just curious :)
wow i said love a lot...whatever |

| Err...sorry about that, was only supposed to post that once, god knows how it posted three times. Anyway, sorry if it seemed a little harsh, just trying to get my point across which a few people have made and you didnt seem to understand. If you read what I originally wrote, I said I thought it was a good idea, just not in the way you were going about it...but hey, everyone has an opinion, if you think handing Nyana out to all those people then thats alright, I'd just do it differently. It wasnt an attack, but you must at least understand why you got some negative comments. |

| DJTiesto4Ever, I am co-manager of Nettwerk, the label that released the Nyana 2xCD compilation. We have tracked you IP and got your address off your ISP for copyright infringement. If you do intend to take this action, we will force compensation from you of the CD value $20, plus $2,000 for the copies, and a furthur $5,000 for possible piracy through the distribution you have created. We will also sue you for damages to the label and expect to pay our costs which we would assume to be in excess of $10,000. |
