does anybody know how the scale of protein intake goes according to your weight? I mean if your on a workout plan, i know you need to eat more protein but whats the correct amount to eat?
i eat alot of chicken breasts, egg whites and some tuna. but i'd like to know a like a concrete amount rather than just randomly eating protein. |

One gram of protien per pound of body weight is correct. Another thing to take into consideration is the protien you count should be of an animal source. A good rule of thumb when trying to gain muscle mass.
If you are trying to gain muscle mass then you may also want to supplement your diet with a high "Biologiacal Value" protien such as whey or whey isolate. Take these kinds of protiens shortly after your workout. Their easy digestive nature with allow your body to have readily availbe protien when it is most needed, the post workout (up to 30-45min afterwards).
If you are trying to gain muscle mass and this is not working then you will need to up your caloritic intake. If you are burning more calories than you are intaking then the protien will be used as fuel for your body instead of building lean mass. Keep this in mind when regulating your protien intake. You may be taking enough protien but it may just be being used for the wrong purpose. Just all things to consider when trying to change the make up of your body.
Good luck with your training :) |

you should probably try this out first, gives minimums and then just increase as neccsary, i've found it very effective and i've been gaining circa 1-1.5 lbs a week
