What synth do YOU use for a piano sound?

My first tasters of electronic music were dreamscape tapes 20-21. This music sounded amazing, it tapped into something that got the pulse going, something cerebal that just "worked" for me. I dont think music will ever have the efect on me again as when i first heard the words "leave me breathless....".
Some of you will no doubt read the last paragraph and find yourself unable to stop humming/singing your favourite Hardcore tune, others will read and look up confused.
Anyways, enough of the pointless nostalgia (spelt right?).
There is something about that hardcre piano sound that just speaks to me. Piano's, used in every type of music under the sun, no matter the taste, you like a tune with a piano used, guaranteed.
Now i eventually get to the question :)
I was extremely curious to know which sample packs/ Vst's you guys use to get that nice, almost authentic, piano sounds. A synth suggestion would be ideal, if it takes a sample pack, then that will do. I just want that ever-so-slightly reverbed piano.
Cheers for any advice :D |

Of all things, my Virus somehow pulls the piano sound off. I can't remember which refill it was but the dude who made it went spastic in the mod matrix.
Before that, I just used the sampler in reason. There's a whole bunch of piano samples in there. I think the grand piano would be the one you're looking for. If you want more reverb on it, then just run a reverb send through the channel that the sampler is connected to. |

| Musicmaker... thank you so much for recommending that 4front piano! I'm listening to the demos right now and am extremely impressed. |

If you like spending money, you could try Steinberg's The Grand. It takes a bit of effort to get the results you want out of this (especially compression) but I think the sound is good.
If you want samples, try ftp://ftp.akaipro.co.jp/downloads/s...es/S5000-S6000/
There's a few sample packs lying around there, for free, but you will have to convert them from S5000 format to what you need. |
