push - the legacy uplifting or progressive trance..??

hey fellows
i have a little arguement about the genre of some track

hope someone could solve it


push - the legacy (original mix)

is it progressive trance or is it uplifting trance...

i would say uplifting...doesnt sound anything like prog to me :conf:

I don't agree...its not that simple...prog has changed drastically...a good example would be...solar stone -seven cities...which at the time of released was considered progressive...

Interesting point. I've never seen 7 cities as progressive myself, but then again i could always be wrong of course.

uplifiting trance these days is alot harder then the legacy, but it's a bit to hard to be labeled prog. howabout just tracne? :conf:

in my opinion lable the legacy as a prog. and there won't be almost uplifting tracks...

the limits of the prog trance are not very clear i agree...
but the legacy is certainly over those limits...

you cant push those limits forever...

the original mix definately isn't uplifting! that much i can tell you right now! the club mix on the other hand is totally different, but i wouldn't say that is uplifting either! just call it trance, that's what i do!:D

When I think of what defines Progressive trance it mostly comes back to how the strack is structured. The legacy progresses in a way that in my opionon is not that of progressive. Now I also wouldn't label it uplifting trance, on the basis that it doesnt have the right kind of melody or progression to be labelled as so.
