Icone - Meriva (Bren-F Remix) <- right click and 'Save Target As'
Well here it is.
My remix of Undoubtably one of the best amature tracks ever posted on this forum (Or any forum fo that matter :) )
Trying to top the original is a pretty impossible task. But, I think (hope) my remix does the orig justice :D But I'll leave that for you all to decide.
I've decided to go for the cliché sawtooth strings for the melody with a nice gating effect midway through the main part of the song as a nice twist. A nice rolling bassline keeps the track flowing nicely :D

High expectations for this one for sure. ;) I think the new sound (sorry for my noob terminology, not sure what you'd call it) brought in for the 2nd loop could be a bit louder. The intro isn't as awe-inspiring as the original, but I feel some more energy from it.
I'm glad you kept the thunder in around the 3:35 mark, that's my favorite part of the whole track. :) I love how you brought in the melody nice and strong at around 4:00, wonderful! After the break is where the track really shines, absolutely euphoric and uplifting, almost reminds me of a little Darren Tate mixed with Airwave. :D
The only thing after that I feel could be changed is having some more effects after the last break, something strong that fades off gradually so you can mix it in nice. Tune just seems a little empty after that break.
I just want to reiterate how incredible this is after the first break up until the cuts (which fit in perfect imo). Not as good as the original, but a little tweaking could solve that. ;) Either way, definitely a worthy B-Side! |

u certainly did justice to original.
on the other hand theres something disturbing with that bassline in the main part, maybe its just me but i hear something wrong in the bassline's note progression :conf:

I love that acidy style synth. :)
Overall, this is a quality remix, but does not beat the original, I think that gated lead in the main part needs boosting, it would make a big difference.

Ah yea, I was gonnna mention that also, where the bassline pattern has that extra note in it, it doesnt sound perfectly in key with the main section. |

well i guess u already tried every possibilities for this part and if you think its the best one then just dont change it , its not a big problem |

Gated saws are pwning me. I like those shoreline noises in the background during the breakdown. oh, i hear that bass note they are talkin about. lots of energy in this one. i like

Bren! i love it, as i knew i would, i seem to love everything you make (maybe it's my local pride - supporting a local lad).
anyway - as far as the bassline goes, i've tried to pick out this rogue note and can't seem to place it - the bassline sound wicked in my opinion. and yes, as everyone else has said - the Gating effect on the synth!!!! i ing love that so much :D gates rule ;)
the whole mix has a really energetic feel to it and all the sounds are working great together.
