hi there!
i started to create deep house/ disco house music (inspired by ian pooley tracks).
so i picked up some sounds from my library, and started cubase.
i've decided i want to make the drums first, so i did a loop sounding like ian pooley - give me the sugar start and i was satisfied.
i wanted to move on and add a bass-drum but when i added a bass drum it sounded akward - like the bass drum was trawinwrecking or something like this, so i am asking you guys, the producers to help me and give me tips about drum alignment in deep house music, or any other tips which can work in this genre.
thanks. |

i wanted to ask another quesion:
when you program the drums, do you use one channel per instrument on the sequencer, or just lay out all the drums on one channel?? |

Renaming doesn't seem to work prophably. Can't play the files.
I always use one drumsound on one track, so I can equalize it properly and I can add effects without influencing other drumsounds. |

I make progressive.
You can try to begin with a kickdrum first and then add the percussion and the hihats and so on. This is a common way.
If you want to keep the drumloop you made, and you used sounds that have low frequenties, you can mute them and then add the kickdrum. They could be fighting with the kickdrum because they might be sharing the same frequenties.
I presume you have tried other kicks, but if you didn't you can try them. Maybe it helps.
It is possible that the kicks you have are not good enough, I don't know. The Drumatic is a very good free drumsynth, where you can make excelent kicks and other drumsounds with. Why don't you download it, and see if it will be usefull? I will post some drumloops later today, but for now here is a kickdrum that I've made with the Drumatic. I presume the kickdrums you have to use, will have to sound kind of the same, but I don't know much about deep house. This kick could be used in a lot of house genres though.
