View this Thread in Original format Sirocco Hartmann Neuron thinking of getting one for the unique sound layered on top of a virus what are your comments on this? Dj Thy Seriously the Neuron is a BIG BIG disappointment. After all the mumbojumbo that has been spread about I was eager to test one. Agreed it has lot's of control options, but the sound is lacking. It just isn't up to par with other stuff, especially not for the price (I've even had the chance to see it opened up, it's just a computer : motherboard, cpu and harddrive, so basically the Neuron is a softsynth with a hardware controller built around). Seriously, if you want that kind of sounds, get Native Instruments Absynth 2. You pay less, you have the same kind of abilities (if not even more) and the sound is superior. But again, you should hear it for yourself. IMO the Neuron is not worth it's price. ABSYNTH Agreed, a Neuron will set you back the best part of £3000, Absynth aprox £170;) ;) Musicmaker If you're looking for good sounding synths: The Alesis Andromedia seems to be a favorite among producers. Alesis also have a new and cheaper one callend the Ion.
