Have you heard about this?

Yes. I don't think MI6 or whatever would do something as stupid as this however. What's the point? If he's a snitch, he already spilled his guts. You think the government would kill him for snitching just to enjoy all this lovely press coverage afterwards?

More likely explanation would be the pressure/guilt the guy was probably putting on himself due to the controversial nature of his report. If he believed that a war was started because of something he wrote/published and that evidence is now being questioned, he probably couldn't sleep at all. If his suicide was in fact a legit suicide...

People kill themselves for less everyday...just look at how many Palestinians have killed themselves for nothing.

yeh it's pretty shocking really, it was suicide btw, slit his wrists
Labour, well particularly Tony Blair, Alasdair Campbell (press secutary aka spin doctor supreme) and Geoff Hoon (defence sec.) are deep in it now, opinion polls in todays guradian suggest a majority support the resignation of all 3, obviously most of this country agrees that the BBC was right to air it's (Andrew Gilligan's) report into the 'sexing up' of the second iraq dossier, and that the government is in the wrong for so agressively persuing the BBC's 'source' for the accusations, which turned out to be Dr David Kelly (according to the BBC), people feel the pressure from the government and the foreign affairs select comittee, a branch of the government (in charge of the public enquiry) lead Kelly to his suicide.
Most people also probably feel that Kelly did the right thing, an expert on biological weapons (PHD microbiology from oxford) and former weapons inspector in Iraq, he knew better than most the truth behind the threat posed by Saddem's 'weapons', and so he was in a just position to jusge the accuracy of the dossier, therefore by informing a BBC journalist about severe inaccuracies in the dossier, he may well have been exposing the truth behind the governments lies, fabricated to gain a backing for the war.
It's all a question of whether you believe the government or the BBC really, for most people here at the moment, the BBC appears to be the favoured choice.

suicide my ass.

well Dr Kelly's death has put both the BBC and the government right up creek (general opinion of both has gone down in the public eye), so conspiring to murder David Kelly by either 'side' would be about as intelligent as emailing a direct download link of Justin Timberlake's new track to the RIAA.

It's too early to draw the conclusion.
The story is still unfolding.
And Bush will never say "I ed up."
