Fortunately was an existing English word before it was a brand and there already is a correct way to pronounce it: tek-nix...
How do you get the long ee sound out of nics?... where else do you see i pronounced that way apart from when its from the french like in "chic" or "*ique"? |

its different for everyone.
in the uk the north says "bath" the south say "barth" for when you bathe in a large tub of water.
"Techniques" sounds really stupid though, its defiantely "tek-nicks"
as astroboy said its an english word/brand.
the reason the canadians are getting it wrong is cos they mingle-with or speak french in their country if im not mistaken.

there are not really that many french speaking people here. more people speak chinese in canada than french (as a first language) |

well by the spelling...if its pronounced with a "neek" then why dont they spell it techniques as in technique becuase...technics is like technical without the al.... but i guess if the older generation pronounced it "tekneeks" then i guess...technique-ally thats what its supposed to be.
sounds pretty stupid though i say... |
