I haven't heard XM radio, but I would say it's cheesy like Ian van Dahl, Darude, Alice Deejay...yeah, that eurodance stuff. I've pretty much given up on radio around me, I find myself tuning into the local rock/punk station if any.
You're not really going to hear good dance music on the radio in the US unless you live in somewhere like Florida, San Fran, Chicago or possibly New York and Phoenix. |

i have this vision...
'upcoming XM shows' sticky-ed
i think D:Fuse is amongst the DJs who have shows featured on XM, if i remember correctly
and it's not expensive, is it?
plus it's satellite
hell, it doesn need an argument
if you got the money,
it's highly worth getting. |

Well, miami has a Trance/dance radio station(Party 93.1) & they usually play that wack overplayed trance or trance from years ago (ATB, Ian Van Dahl, etc.).....
....the only time they play decent, up to date trance is on Sunday Nites (Paul Oakenfold presents..., George Acosta's Lost World, then finish the nite w/ the Global DJ Broadcast)....
....Other than that, its the 50 Cent dance version of In Da Club or some other wack sh!t. Better yet...local florida wannabe trance DJs at some local clubs that are ghetto as hell and wanna hear the same music. I personally only tune in on Sun. nites....
...I'm sure XM Radio can provide a much better outlet. And I have seen on some websites that certain artists produce their own radio shows, etc on satellite radio (mostly hiphop though). Hopefully some1 else has it though to give u a better idea |

50 cent - in da club (dj volume ultimix)
not that bad for a dance club or fast driving music. ive been to florida for 10 days vacation and all they play is their own top 20.

| I don't have XM radio personally, but they have it at the gym I go to. I think they have a few different dance/techno/trance channels. From what I've heard they play mostly good stuff, a few cheesy things that no one really wants to listen to and some tracks that I've never heard of before. I say if it's cheap then go for it. |

I've got XM and I love it. Now, having said that, if you're thinking about getting it just for the dance channels (and especially trance music), I can't really recommend it. There are 4 dance channels (well, only 3 since one of them is disco).
XM 80 is The Move. Don't look for any trance on it. It's mostly house (with some drum n bass mixed in).
XM 81 is BPM. It's what some would call the "cheese" station. They're a little more liberal when it comes to dance music than the over the air stations that play dance are (Party Miami, Party Orlando, etc.). If you like the "Hits" of dance music, then you'd like this. Their Top 33 chart can be seen here: http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/bpm_chart.pdf
XM 82 is The System. This is where you'd hear some trance. It's mainly a trance/electronica hybrid station.
As you can see, there really isn't a true all trance channel. I've heard that they may add one soon, but I wouldn't count on that. You can see what's playing on all the XM channels by going to this site: http://www.xmfan.com/guide.php You may also want to check out Sirius. I don't know much about their dance channels, other than that they have 6 of them (you can also listen to them online at www.sirius.com). |

I read in a magazine that Sirius (XM's competition) has 6 channels devoted to "techno"
I have no clue as to what Sirius offers, so check out their website. |

| question: with xm could you receive BBC radio 1 in canada? or ID&T? Or does it have to be a separate satellite broadcast station for it to work? |
