Is uplifting trance dying? (pg. 2)

I dont think its 'dying' but dance music is always changing and I bet in 20 or even 10 years barely is producing any of the genres that are out now, just as not many people produce hardcore these days

uplifting trance... *sigh* it has sort of dropped down a bit.. it will never die, but to be honest most of the stuff that has come out of the uplifting side of things over the last year has been crap with the odd few exceptions of course... its all the same sound and structure recycled over and over. but there is a new breed of trance coming thru thats being pushed by max graham, sandra collins, scott bond and sometimes tijs... its more progressive uplifting.. theres more of an interesting structure to it and more originality... tracks like moogwai - labyrinth part 1 and wheed baskin - castle rock.. stuff like that. if this is the way forward then i will in love it!!

i think.. end of this year

trance goes on a curve...
everything goes and comes back..

i am willing to bet.. by Feb of 2002..
it will be Uplifting again

I honestly don't think that uplifting trance will die, as long as there's a listeners market. Given, the industry's been moving to a less looped sound, forging a darker path into the realm of trance. However, uplifting has been around since '93 and if it has survived this long, then I highly doubt that it will diminish any time soon.

Besides, progressive and uplifting have no thin line differentiating the two. Many uplifting songs are progressive and vice-versa. Personally, I love where trance is going right now. Take a look at what Nick Warren is producing, couple that with what Pendulum has done in Australia; then take what you've heard from S&D's Northern Exposure and I'd say that the industry has been moving along just nicely.

Remember, if the music industry isn't dynamic then it becomes stagnant and hackneyed. Elements for past era's will always be present, but the tide will ebb and flow as quickly as ideas come forth.

Not really!...lol :) Plenty of stuff released that's uplifting after that. Too many to post really. Maybe do a search on threads entitled "fav trance tune"...or "fav uplifting track" Theres plenty of them to go around.
