So how do you do it? I'm talking about those awesome mind breaking moans that come in where a fill-in normally would be - like in the Dirty Vegas remix of that madonna song.
What do you do? I'm thinking I'm going to try recording myself goign "aaaahhhhh", then drop it down an octave digitally, then give it some reverse reverb, and try to loop just the reverse reverb part - what do you think? |

my method may actually be a whoosh, i dont know, but...
i use a sawwave in a synth, play it at full sustain, no decay...hold the note for say, 4 bars. start with high Resonance, low Filter in a lowpass and gradually drop the resonance, raise the filter, and compress the whole thing. add a reverse reverb with very little decay, regular multitap reverb delay at 1/16. voila!
if you want to get creative, add an LFO on the phase or oscillation, or add a second oscillator with a very large difference in fine pitch offset (like +20 and then -20). with the sawtooth and the filter gradually getting higher, you get a rolling/bouncing sound that gets faster and faster but its very subtle.
