Very keen on what you guys think on this worn out topic...but it's the only way i can make up my mind. These turntables starting at the lowest priced....Numark TT-200....Gemini PT2100....Stantons STR8-80...are all at mid-range performance.I wish to buy a mid-range deck but which one to buy out of the three is very frustrating to me...so i ask for your help.Dont know about anyone else but i hate the looks of the numark and the 1.6kg torqe but everything else is good...like the changable tonearms very usfull.Geminis deck looks dated, tacky plus it has a curved tone arm which is not good for scratching..Good points are that this deck has a 2.2kg torqe but is that a major difference to the 1.6kg that the numark and stanton hold (will it make djing easier mixing sratching etc having an extra 0.6torque on the gemini).Stantons STR8-80 Has a straight tonearm which is ideal for scratching but not very good for genral use..The looks are great. So on my mind now is the str8-80 am i right to go for it?I heard this deck has had platter problems.Peace:rolleyes:

I have the TT-200s. Other than the tall pitch faders, I have no real complaints about them. Good enough torque and it's a very solid deck. I prefer the technics look but IMO, the TT200s are very good looking.

Really cos they dont look that nice to me really.I keep hearing people say how nice they look but to me they take away waht a turntable should look like.I guess performance matters....prefer the str8-80 over the tt-200 just because of its looks

In terms of performance, the Numarks are solid. Very fast start up (very good torque), the pitch is very accurate and doesn't waver and built very solidly. I think they're amazing decks considering they're $170/piece.

Yeah I agree, the TTX1s and TT200's may look kinda techy and such, but in a plasticky way. Technics tables are like art, the just look awesome, something about them just screams it..

The technics and the stanton tt's have the best looks.Followed by gemini, numark then vestax.I'm still not sure which mid-range deck to go for if any. There must be people like me who carnt afford both a good quality mixer and a top-range deck.If you got a top-range deck and mixer i suppose it would be alright. The turntables are the most important peice of the setup...you can always upgrade on mixers as there in a small price margin compared to decks. So if i do end up saving for the top-range its back to the deccssion making on either the mk2's or ttx1's...:conf: wot? vesax i hear you say....dont even go there:D
