Hi there. How are you all doing?

I want to build a new comp, but I would like to have some comment on the following components:

Intel Pentium IV 2800 MHZ 800 FSB
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
Kingston Dimm Hyperx 2 x 256 MB
Pioneer DVR-A06 DVD/CD Recorder DVD+/-R(W)
Zalman CNPS7000-Cu (socket 478)
Zalman ZM 400A-APF 400W
Matrox Millennium G550 or the P650?
Chieftec case (Which one?)
Seagate Barracuda Serial ATA V (120 GB) (I already have an older Seagate 80 MB)
Samsung 1,44 MB floppydrive (1,44 MB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home (OEM)
M-Audio Audiophile 2496
And if my cash let's me I want to buy a tft monitor

Any suggestions or maybe I am missing something. Thanx in advance

use windows 2000 professional instead of xp, a lot more stable and works with all audio programs.

great system you got there.

tell me, how much the m-audio sound card will cost you???
DJ Bladerunner
I have seen it for € 199.
But to be honest I am not sure if I want this card. I know it is good, but do I need multiple outputs or do you think it is unnecessary because you already have a mixer in cubase/

(thanx for the fast reply BTW)
fishfish
i think you should have multiple outputs no matter cubase or other sequncers has their built in mixer, but this is my opinion and i'm a noob!

I use a M Audio Delta 410, with 8 out and 2 in (+spdf) but i use an external desk. but the sound is MINT;)

Get more RAM... if you can that is.

512 is enough but these days I would say go ahead and get a Gig.

It doesn't have multiple outs. It only has the one stereo out. The other outs are the S/PDIF out and the midi out.

I'd agree with this. Especially if you're going to use a sampler or synth (like Atmosphere) that loads stuff into memory rather than streaming off disk. You'll probably appreciate the extra memory more if you're using XP, talking of which, I have nothing against if you're running it on new hardware. I did have some problems with XP, until I upgraded most of my PC and now everything works extremely well.

Thanx for all the replies so far. Please keep them cumming. Just another quick question.
When are multiple outputs needed?
