Then again, what if they DID get their inspiration from this sample, so what?!
Happens loads of time, every producer might get inspiration from listening to a short drumloop or a single sound. A loop like this can easily be used to construct a whole track around it, so can a single sound sometimes.
I would like to dare each one of you calling ATRC a rip off because it might have been inspired by this sample, to construct a masterpiece like ATRC from a short sample like this.
It's not as if that makes it easy! |

Talking about taking samples, check out the verrry recognisable TB 303 loop in Marco V's 'Godd'.
And then check out some Virus B / C presets...
Everyone uses samples / loops / presets / etc. |

They made an excellent work, if they took a sample from a software who cares, itīs just A SAMPLE.
Remember they also wrote the lyrics, and the rest of the tune. |

Sampling stuff from other tunes and such is a essential to dancemusic.
That's how it all began...
But this u bring up upon us is ridiculus...
It's a 2 note melody ffs!
Besides, I don't really think those 2 notes makes the tune.
It's the vocals that are the TUNE IMO!

You know, you guys are funny
If a lesser known dj or lesser liked dj did the same thing, most of you would probably freak out.
Coincidence or not its still a great tune however part of it is borrowed and i dont think he will be the next dj mystik anyways.
I remember a while back there was a topic about Tiesto's Urban Train and how part of the melody was taken from a different track...was it steve something or other? |
