New to Trance... sorta [Suggestions?]

Hey all, I'm new to the forum, somewhat new to Electronica as well.
My Electronic days started with U2 [synth, all I knew of] and of course Kraftwerk's "The Robots". DaftPunk's Around the World got my attention along with Prodigy - Fat of the Land [Firestarter and Breate].
At the time I was totally digging Electronica but at the time I thought that anything electronic was "Techno" I bought my first disc, being United DJ's of America 10 - Taylor. Ok, at first I only liked 2 songs, but now the whole album makes me shake... this was 3-4 years ago. I am now familiar with all the major artists it seems...
Tiesto, Oakenfold, PVD, Chicane, Tilt, Red Jerry, Matt Darey, System F, Cygnus X and the list goes.
However, I know Rendezvous is sorta a universal anthem as well as Binary Finary, Superstrings and the like. Being relatively new to trance [about 2 years into it and with 90% of my mp3 collection [about 9 gigs] being trance, I'ld say I'm more than an addict ;-) ] -- anyways back to my question, what are the anthems that really got people into trance, I'm curious. Taylor's Slide was my first trance-track that got me into the scene, followed by GusGus - Purple [Sasha vs. the Light rmx]
I'm out to broaden my collection, so if you all remember what first grabbed your attention throw it at me. Thanks a million.

| You seem to be further into trance then most people but I would suggest you just listen to live sets from your favorite DJs (who you also seem to know a lot about). You'll also learn lots more about trance once you get more into the forums...welcome aboard! :D |

well, i'm as new as you then...i always liked electronica, due to heavy influence from newave music, haha...and i always liked techno...i've been really into trance for the past two years...have about 15 gigs of trance mp3's and the first thing that hooked me to trance would be:
Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport ( the whole damn album )
then progressed to:
system f - out of the blue
and right now, i would say a great trance anthem would be:
fire and ice - forever young...damn good song...jp |
