I am still a novice, and i use short boards. How are you suppose to duck dive? The place where i surf at, the waves come strong near the shores but it's too close to the shore to surf, and i need to go further out so i can actually ride the waves. I know using short boards you have to duck dive under the waves to get past the waves, but i don't know how to and whenever i try i always get wiped out. Thanks
Also any other surfing tips? |

just as the wave is about to crash on you or reach you push yourself up from the board using your hands the weight from the top half of your torso should push the board under then you just dive under with it and kick like crazy the power of the wave should keep you under and push you out the back... unless of course the wave is so weak it doesnt really matter anyways.
thats what i used to do with boogie boards and its the same principle and ive being out into some huge sets without flippers with no problem its fkn tiring but. |
