I'm wanting to setup my basement as a studio and a place for parties. I'm just now getting into DJ'ing and plan on slowly getting the equipment as I can afford it.
Right now I'm looking for some speakers and mixer just for dance parties and playback, I do a little audio recording on my pc and mainly just use HD280's. What I'd like are some active speakers I can hook up to my Pc though my Revo7.1. I'd like something that I can use both for monitors and speakers that can push alot of volume for parties. Keep in mind later down the road I'll be adding 2 Technics tables. Should I go ahead and throw the mixer in now and run the pc to a mixer?
Basically I want some speakers and a mixer that can grow with me as I get more into DJ'ing and can serve dual purposes for mixing and parties.
Oh, one more thing.. my budget for just the speakers and mixer right are around 2000-2500. Basement is about 25x40. |

im in the same area as you right now in trying to buy all my equipment...
im saving up for
2x techs
2x ortofon nightlub
1x allen + heath xone 62
2x jbl eon 15 g2
1x sony v6
2x bedrock slipmats
1x sampler/fx of some sort in the future
1x cd player of some sort in the future
im going to take my dj "hobby" very seriously as you can tell :)
i suggest the jbl eon 15 g2 for your price range they are around 1,400 (industry standard) and are very reliable and sound great. |

I don't know about speakers, but under that budget, you can get a beatiful mixer!!... look at the high-end Pioneer mixers, and even the Rane mixers.
I'm in the same boat, but spending about 1800 on..
.2 technics sl-1200 M3D TTs.
.2 stanton SKII cartridges.
.2 Shure While Label cartridges.
.1 Sennheiser HD280 silver pair headphones.
I already got my Behringer VXM300 mixer, for $220 total.
so yea about $2000 CDN in total, all being bought from a US online store... www.djmart.com . Try to get a hold of DJ Tranz from the forums here, he can get deals! |
