Hello there,
I've got quite a lot of mp3z at the moment (Thanx to Swamper!!!). I would realy like to make my own mix. I've already downloaded a couple of Mixing-programs,.but i havn't found a good program yet, the main problems i encounter:
- You can't record your mix
- Headphone is not supported
- Cracks don't work :-) (VTT)
- Beatmixing is not always automated (ok ok,.I'm starting :-) This option would be nice for my first mix!
Please people,.i've been looking for a program like this for ages,..
Please help me people!!
Greetings,
Vincent |

Try MixMeister (http://www.mixmeister.com I think :))
Allthough the beatmixing sucks, it should get you starting. Beatmixing still remains a human job I'm afraid.

Yeah don't think that there's any good MP3 mixing software. You could never match your beats with them.
If you want to mix MP3s, just convert them to wav and use a professional sound editing software like Soundforge.
Just rememember that for perfect mixing you have to adjust the tempo or pitch of the songs to match with one another. And you have to synchronize the beats when you mix. This may take some practice but after all everyone can do it. :)
Hope this helps.

Soundforge's Acid seems to do the trick for me. It isn't incredibly full-featured but it isn't in real time so it's good for people like me who suck at mixing :)
You just input the BPM of a song (or number of beats in a sample) and make sure the tracks are in phase... and there ya go. |

Atomixmp3 - atomixmp3.com is a very nice program for live mixing, has record feature as well. Auto match beats too! However I couldn't find a working crack for it.
For my first mix I used Cool Edit. I first converted all the mp3s to wavs and with a plugin for winamp called (pitch forker) I had all my selected tracks at the same BPM.
And then in Cool Edit i opened the tracks in the Multi Track option of Cool Edit. It took a couple of days to complete the mix but worth it.
Check it out at my homepage, details in signature. |

| MixMeister gets my vote. Easy and Fun to use!!! I also agree with jax, beatmixing is a human talent not a computer program. |

The best Program is Virtual Dj ver. 1.2 the crack worked really good for it....but now you cant download the old version anymore only the new version which has a new Name...called AtomixMp3 and the crack works...but one problem...you will get a popup sign that will come up every 10min ..where it was sopposed to shut off as the demo!!....and that es up the Recording.....
As of the recording the best get a good sound card and use Sound Forge and record it from there ... its the best in my mind...you can edit it there when your done!!! sweet!!... |

Morbius...
I think noone is good in mixing MP3s in real-time as you can't seek the beat the same way you can do with real turntables/vinyl or DJ CD players.

although i have turntables, there's a TON of music on my computer that i'd love to have on vinyl. i use VTT when i do any mixing on the computer. i personally think it's the best. i know that at the start beat matching is a pain in the ass, but you just gotta keep at it. if you're having trouble, VTT does have a bpm counter that will get you pretty close to the right speed.
blighty, in regards to your recording questions... a) you should prolly look into getting a new sound card. i have a SB live which i picked up for $75 CAN. ... it's cheap, and it comes with an awesome recording program. b) cueing/headphones: i still havn't found a practical solution to this problem.. you'd probably need two sound cards and a program which probably isn't invented yet... anyone know? c) ..i have to restart VTT every 40 minutes too... i'll register some day. d) see above.
anyway, if you have any other questions just ask. i've been messing around with this stuff for a little over a year now.
good luck!
