Sratch on a record... HELP ME

I got the most important booking of my life tomorrow( Dj contest , im on the final ) and one of my record have a scratch .... when the needle hit the scratch its skip ....
wath i can do to "clean" the Fu(ing scratch....
i need that record.... |

| i hear some people were able to stop the skipping by using a tshirt ro soetmhing sorta rough to smooth down the scratch... i say you shoudl either find a new one or just dont use it if it keeps skipping. try rubbing the scratch area with some pressure and if that doesnt work then... i think your SOL sorry |

don't use that record.
get it on a cd and play it from there - only if the competition don't restrict cd's usage. |

| well this is from one of my buddies, the same happened to me but he told me to just get a new needle and tape a penny over the top of the cartridge. play the record and make sure your finger guides the needle in the groove. do it a few times and test it to see if it skips. make sure you guide or else the scratch will be the new groove and your screwed. i have yet to try it cuz i want to try it with a new cartridge. he said it should work unless its really bad. |
