I have several excellent songs that I want to remix. How do I go about remixing the track, provided all I have is a CD?? I want to extract the vocals somehow and insert them into a faster, dancable track...

thnx!:toocool:

Unless you get a clean acapella from somewhere it's more or less impossible to extract vocals from the tune.

Well, it IS possible in theory but you'd have to know the exact range of the vocals and... no.

Sometimes you can eq some of the sounds, like a bassline and put the vocal forward. But most of the times it's just impossible. You really need the acapella's to remix.

I know a great site, which hosts a lot of acapella's:

good luck!

Even if you know it, it won't solve things. Once the song is mixed, it stays that way. It's not like the several instruments have each their own "niche" of frequencies without overlap. Several instruments and vocals share frequencies, so if you do something to it, you will affect everything else also.

Imagine a song is like a cake. Once the cake is mixed, you can't get the original ingredients back in their original state anymore.
