I've downloaded the individual tracks to an album and want to join all 11 tracks into one file as you would when you download a set from DJmixes2k. But H J Split wont let me.

Any suggestions most welcome.

You can use a mixing-software, for example mixmeister.. atleast I do.
Believe there are easier ways, but try it out.

HJSplit...... or you can always use copy command.

Here's how. let's say you have 2 files of a 1 long set split in 2 parts. For example: PvD1.mp3 and PvD2.mp3 you want one continuos file. Both files are located in C:\mp3 folder. Here's how:

In windows 98/ME:
1. Click start, click RUN, and type "command" (without quotes). Hit ok
2. DOS command prompt will come up. You will first need to change into MP3 directory. Keep in mind that if your MP3 folder is inside another folder, for example: "C:\My Music\Trance\Live Sets" (you actually need to know where the MP3 folder resides) - in that case you would need to change into that folder first. The way to do it is to type command CD (change directory) and then directory name. You can change into directories one by one, like == CD "MY MUSIC" then "CD Trance", then "CD "live sets", etc. Keep in mind that if directory contains space, such as "My Music" - you would need to include directory name in quotes. so, to change into that directory, you can do it in one fell swoop like this:

CD "C:\my music\trance\live sets" and it will take you straight to that folder. you will see a prompt like this:

C:\My Music\trance\live sets>_ when dealing with directories that contain spaces always use " before the directory name. Also, in XP/Windows 2000/Windows 2003 you can actually use TAB key to complete directory name. For example, if directory is called MY MUSIC, just type: "CD MY" and hit TAB (no quotes in this case) - it will complete directory name... if more than 1 directory begin with MY keep hitting TAB, it will scroll through list of directories.

Confused yet? Ok, move on to example. In this case, we use something simple for directory name, like c:\mp3 (BTW, keep in mind that directory and folder are interchangeable terms)

At the command prompt (looks like C:\> ) type:
all commands without quotes:
"C: " hit enter
"CD \" hit enter
"CD MP3" hit enter
"copy /b pvd1.mp3+pvd2.mp3 pvd.mp3" hit enter

This will join pvd1.mp3 and pvd2.mp3 into a one complete file called "pvd.mp3".

If you are running XP or NT/Win2k/Win2k3 - in step 1, instead of "command", type "cmd" . The rest of the steps are the same.

Have fun :D
