I'm starting to see files encoded in this format, my question is what the hell is it and can i get codecs for WA2.xx/3 to play it back? Just taking a stab i'd guess its the new MPEG format but I am unsure.

download the nimo codec. it has every known codec bundled into it. it also plays other formats that hackers like to use. but im sure you arent trying to play pirated movies :P

 no, this is an audio format.. i think its equivalent to the "mp4" extension.. I seem to recall reading about it, in any event I don't think I have the codec on my machine :-(:nervous:

I was unaware of any "hacker" formats unless you consider XviD a "hacker" format (lmao). DVD rips are the only pirated movies worth watching IMO

i agree although most of Centropy's SVCD releases are excellent quality and are usually out 1-2 weeks after movie is released in theaters :toothless

m4a is also known as mp4 audio or AAC audio.

Most Apple computer users are using m4a files now (myself included). The quality is higher at lower bitrates compared to mp3's.
