An analysis of "hate about clubs" thread, and the treatment of partyprincess.

Good day.
I am beginning a thread that will hopefully bring some insight to the general public of the TOTAs. After I express my opinions, I hope people take it for its descriptive analysis, not assume its a redundant post.
After reading the long 21 page things that piss you off at the club thread, I've observed some behaviour that is (sadly) reaccuring amongst the general TOTA.
First off, I do not know partyprincess, vivid boy, or mjuzik. But I'm using the "clubs" thread as what is shown, and not looking at anything that might have happened in the past, that I was not aware of.
As I was reading the similar posts of the things that pissed people off at clubs I noticed that alot of those things are caused by the people of TOTA. I know people are different, some smoke but others don't; but it is really difficult to label "others" as ginos that do the same things as some TOTAs. I mean: "sweaty ginos, rude ginos, smoking ginos", I've heard it all, and I've seen it all, not only by ginos, but also by TOTAs. So, then I concluded that the only explenation is a clique. Yes, a clique, an obviously usless concept, but blindly unseen by the people that are a part of it.
TOTA, is a clique. Certain people believe that it is a group that belongs only to them. And new memebers are treated poorly. This is exactly what is occuring. It is the same thing that was occuring before with Sane, and with me. In reality it is sad but avoidable if the clique is educated of the situation. In this case it is not.
When, new members express their own personal opinions, they are attacked, almost like they are "too radical". Like their independance will take over the clique, the forum. And the populars would lose their place in the hierarchy. So these populars begin to flame the new members/"radicals" until the followers join the band wagon (I have used this word too many times on this forum :rolleyes: ) and continue to flame this "radical" until they stop. This way, things can be kept at "peace" and the: post whores, egoists, idea men, & rest, will remain in their spot.
Respect & love is what binds us all as human beings. It is what allows us to live together and prosper in our spiritual and philosophical evolution. It is something explored and celebrated while partying and listening to music. Why is it that the ravers have it and TOTAs do not. It is love, and respect. I have seen little of it on this forum, and it is one of the primrary reasons why I decided to spend more of my time on different forums.
I hope you all understand that change and personal opinion are normal, and should be explored, not ignored. Flaming and disrespect is everything that our music stands not for. And to break this understanding is to misunderstand the music and the vibe.
All I want from this thread is respect and apology. This can change and people can change. I wish to see people apologize to partyprincess, vivid boy and mjuzik. After all that I have read, they were the ones trying to explain to you guys that all this flaming is not the way to go, that partyprincess was misunderstoon, and that you guys were over-reacting.

I COMPLETELY disagree with this. TOTA welcomed me with out any reservations or akwardness when I went to Talla. I had only been posting on the boards 2 weeks prior to this event and they welcomed me like one of their own.

Good post. TOTA has become a clique. Unless you know some of the main users of the forums, you will get flamed for a opposing opinion.
In some ways the "TOTA Clique" (better name pending) is worse than ginos and/or other similar groups. This is because the arguing and bitching is done OVER THE INTERNET! how lame is that?
Although some things that are said on these forums are not to be taken seriously, there's no reason to post it in the first place.
I know some of you have used the internet for a LONG time and I'd think you'd get used to and accept the different opionions expressed by other users...but i guess not

I must also say that I agree with you on this Graham,I had np problems when I first came to this board.
Also lets not forget this is INTERNET ok??things happen sometimes,flamming happens all the time on messege boards,so it is nothing unusual.
Finally I just wanna warn you all this thread might turn real ugly,so lets just try to keep it cool this time,before all the flamming and hijaking begins!!:nervous: :nervous: |

True, I think this is because you weren't opposing any opinions in any threads. TOTAs are accepting if you have similar views...or don't cause controversy |

I've had my share of disagreement and yet, I still stand!
Not everybody is going to agree with you, and not everybody on this board carries the same view on things...
Sure some people might respond in a negative manner *uhm, rocco, uhm* but! I guess you can't have everyone to agree with you! This is what makes the place fun! But otherwise, it's never too serious. This place has the best environment ever... I havn't even met anybody in person yet, but I hope I do!

I have to say i disagree. I always felt extremely welcome on TA since i joined even though i haven't even met most of the TOTAs. I've never been flamed for any of the opinions i've expressed before.
Some of the people you mention being flamed here have been part of TA for longer than i have.
There's a good reason behind the flaming but i'm not going to get into it this time. It's getting tiring. |
