Halcyon Frozen: Review

well what can I say ? another Halcyon, another massive night ! although it wasn't as packed as usual, the quality of the music was absolutely unreal and I think most Ta's who were there, would agree with me that stama's set was absolutely flawless ! The sought of structure to a set you would expect from big name international djs, stama's set had it all. From those early driving progessive beats, to the uplifting melodies we all have come to love ! it had it all. The hightlight for me definately had to be Unmark - The silent you ! WOW, it was the first time I heard it out and boy did it send me into a frenzy. Congrats Stama, all the best in the future :)
Big thanks to all the Ta's who made it down, especially matt + friend (sorry dude I forgot your name) these underage clubbers got a feel of the bigtime and boy did they look like they were having a ball ! To everyone else, thanks for another massive night ! it wouldn't be the same without you, hope to catch you all for another wacky night on the 16th for Steve Helstrip :) |

Yes what an awsome night, I still can't believe I actually got in so easily, I was kinda dissapointed it was so easy!
Stama went off, awsome set. Highlights for me probably would've been
Solid Globe - North Pole
The Quest - C Sharp
System F - Exhale
and the brief moment when I thought Tiesto - Flight 673 was Urban Train. :(

Helena(thanks for the drinks), Webby, Bragi, Sidney, Chookie, Lethal, Oli(your a legend dude), dj way, and everyone else (sorry cant remember all your names).
Fush and me left at about 4:30, and finally found our way back to Darling Harbour then slept till like 12 and had a bit of a headache but apart from that it was absolutely awsome! One of my best nights ever!!

hi guys! I had a wicked night! I loved Diggs & Morro's set and thought Stama was also very very good.
I was a little suprised, perhaps a little put off by how much hard trance was played.
I am not sure what everyone else's thoughts are on this, but I think Halcyon should stick to melodic and uplifting stuff, and not so much "THE THEME" sort of stuff?
Anyone agree?
Other than the hard trance and shutting early, another spot on night. How good were those lasers?

what a night! i had a mad time! i fully thought you turned 18 matt, nice work gettin into the club, ingenious even. props to everyone i saw again or the first time sidney, matt, helen, joel, wade and there were heaps more but i got a shockin memory
i kinda agree with you starsurfer, it was nothin like the relaunch but it was still awesome.

Yeah I thought flight was urban train for about 5 seconds too ..
What's this about early close? I left at around 4.30 .. it's a shame the place wasn't exactly full.. |

but anyways..reading the reviews... i thought it was Suburban Train? and you guys said Urban Train?
Me and a friend had a bitchfight since i reckon there is no Urban Train...

hey guys, sounds like you all had a good time. i flew up to byron bay for the weekend so couldnt make it, but hopefully be at the next one (partly saving my energy for the massive events that still await us this year ... oh YEAH!!)

I'm pretty sure that one of them is the dub, i think Suburban train -the other would be a vocal mix (I could be very wrong) |

Great to see everyone there!!!!! Set of the night for me was Morro's with his prog trance, including depeche mode - only when I, break in the clouds and use only the drug.....plenty more I've forgotten, but a bomb set! (mind you all were good)
Bass: read the music forum on here, there's a topic about it like every week...If memory serves me correctly, suburban is normally the vocal version, but certian mixes don't follow that rule....

Matt:- any chance you can scan/take a photo of your ID (course blur out name and number ETC, just wanna c how u've done it....I got find $454 2x due to a fake ID when I was under aged) :P

Fush and I were planning to make up some reason why we didnt have fake IDs, then i got a PM from Anon telling me to take a bag and look important, so i took my record bag and thought about saying I was djing. Ring Helen tell her, she says "You little , if you get in im gonna kill you!"
So we make a flyby Gas at about 10pm,wait for the initial crowd to go in, then we walk up (i was ting myself at this point, as the bouncers were about 10 times my size) and I go to walk straight past.
It was so hard to be confident, god.
One pulls me up and goes "mate have you got any ID?"
"Na man I'm djing here in the breaks room tonight"
Right now im thinking im an idiot, as I had no records in my bag!!
"ahh ok so your djing, but do you have annyy ID at all?"
"na sorry man, morro is expecting me inside"
"ahh thats ok then, go on in"
Fush: "I'm with him"
"Oh I see"
I think the bouncers thought we were 'together' :rolleyes:
So I walk in, in absolute shock it was so easy! I was waiting for him to call me back!, they never searched us or anything! Walk to the desk, then I remember im not djing and should pay (dont wanna rip the boys off), so I pay (praying the boucers dont see me paying!) and walk in to have a game of pool with 2 drunk Pommies.
Props to the Gas bouncers, made my night dudes!
And your reason was the reason i didnt want to use a fake ID, they are sending people to comm service and stuff like that now for using fakies. Dont want that!! :eyes: |

All class man!!!!! Maybe you should become a "resident" :P
The charge 4 fakies is also up to $1000 a fine now if I remember correctly now too(being 20 and all, i don't really pay too much attention cept for the luck of not having to do that again ;) (Sorry man, I'm sure you know how painful it is)

ahh matt, ur bringin back so many memories of my underage days!! not that i ever got into a club with as classy a method as u did....that's just pure gold *lol* damn it must suck to be an underage guy tho - girls have it so much easier :(
anyways, twas a good nite - not up there with the best, but still good tho....great to see everybody and listen to some awesome tunage :)
webby, as always, i dunno what i'd do without u....a thousand thankyous to u....and hey, thanx for makin sure i FINALLY did the Manly Ferry....ur the bestest tour guide ever :) :)
