No, IMO it sucks!
The graphics aren't great and the whole interface is quite difficult to understand. I hardly know anyone who uses this at a professional level for dance music.
I think this program is more suitable for acoustic musicians and that sort of music. |

It's... different. You really have to explain what graphics have to do with producing though. It's built around a step sequencer unlike Reason, so it's mainly intended to make dance music (although other styles are possible, but more difficult). Some instruments are better, some aren't. In general the effects are better than Reason's (cuz those in Reason are pathetic really).
You really get the most out of Project 5 when you combine it with Cakewalk Sonar (kinda like the Reason/external sequencer like cubase or logic combo). If you don't combine it, it's a closed system just like Reason.
It's really something you must try. Some people prefer Project, some Reason, but you mustn't forget Reason has been around longer so it profits from that.
As far as such programs are concerned, in real pro communities, they are really used as ways to quickly compose a draft of a song, rarely to do the complete process. |

| Well ok, graphics have nothing to do with producing, that's right. But I like a program which has some cool graphics, like Logic or Fruityloops and even Reason. |

well... ive tried reason a few times, and i didnt like it at all...just a personal preference... ive been using fruitty for a while....but not anymore, about half a year ago i switched to Logic...and im totaly happy with it... just wanted to see if project was better...i guess not...
is it better or worse then Logic? |

It can't be compared to Logic. Logic is a sequencer. Reason and Project are virtual studio's with a basic sequencer integrated. If you should compare Logic to something, it would be other sequencers like Cubase, Sonar or Protools.
As for Logic, you can hardly find any better sequencer. The learning curve is pretty steep, but once you mastered it it's one of the most powerful. Some people prefer Cubase SX, it has some nice features, but the sheer power of Logic still surpasses it. And for the professional studio's, there are addons for Logic so they can integrate perfectly with Protools (and even use their DSP effects).
Those sequencers are made to use with external hardware, but with the upcoming of software instruments they have their use too (altough Cubase has better compatibility with VST, as Steinberg invented it, Logic has some nice instruments though ES2 for example). I dunno if you're on Mac : Logic is only supported on Mac since Apple bought Emagic, there are cracked versions up to 5.5 on PC, but that's about as far as they'll go I suppose.
If you intend to go hardware or stick to software instruments. Either way, Logic is a fine choice. If you look for alternatives, take a look at Cubase SX/Nuendo, Cakewalk Sonar, or if you're more audio oriented, Protools. |

personally i dont like it.
doesnt mean it sucks though.
what i do like though, is some of the synths that come with it.
especially the Psyn, great for bass sounds. :cool: |

Are there people who worked with Sonar XXL and with Logic??? Tell about the differences ans experiences with these programs. I have Sonar, but I hear everybody speaking about Logic. Why should Logic be better than Sonar??
And who can tell me which VST's could be used in Sonar? |
