I went from Optus cable to TPG DSL about a month and the speed difference is still a shock. I wasn't expecting this much of a change...
A word of advice: If you don't download huge amounts of e, INVEST IN CABLE.

DSL is better then cable imo... why.. cause not everyone can get cable acces... and the download limits are a joke...
Check out iinet.net.au for ADSL...
in on the Blink 512 Plan...
16GB per month for $80... which is the best in my opinion...
Those unlimited companies are full of leechers that slow the whole network down.. so i rather have this.. besides.. 16GB My GOD!!! its a load compared to dial up... and for the price it rips cable in half... |

| I get 512k with unlimted downloads for $68 a month. But i work for an ISP and get staff discount :) We dont offer unlimited downloads to normal users, just staff. |

Let's do some comparisons here. Your Optus cable is much much faster, but you get 3 gigs. You can easily get through that in the first day of the month, leaving you anywhere from 28-31 days of dialup.
10 gig theoretical limit per month?
I can get over 20gigs per month quite easily, and I'm on a slow DSL line (256k). One month I even managed to get 35 gigs :eek:

I just go to the IT Lab at Tafe and d/load there, almost every computer has a burner! :D D/loaded all of Ferry's video clips yesterday! |

I was with igreen, though they went into receivership and were bought by Flow Communications, who aren't currently offering the plan I'm on.
However, cheap unlimited ADSL is readily available from places like Internode and Dodo.... |

I was hmming along to myself, and i think i worked out what fate will befall dodo:
"dodo, dodo, internet that dies"
i mena, they came out of nowhere, spending big showing loads of adds offering unlimited cable/adsl. DO you think they will last/be able to keep up with the demand. |
