It gets lonely in the DJ booths sometimes, so Paul entertains himself by watching a bit of video downloads from Kazaa. lol :D

Thats why you should still buy vinyl :D.

I'll second that ;) |

| He said that he only uses the FS thing instead of bringing all his cdr's. And he has alot of them. |

Linux is ridiculously stable compared to windows. That's one of the main advantages...i've never seen linux crash in my life. VERY RARELY a program can crash, but you just kill it and open it again...not like windows where it causes memory leaks all over the place and you have to restart the comp.
Maybe they got a bad installation, or their drives were messed up, or something.. |
you are right on that ;) |

| I dont blame him for replacing cdr's with FS...in some of his recent sets, he's had problems with cdr's skipping, which obviously kills the whole flow of the set. By relying on FS and a laptop, any chance of skipping or error is virtually eliminated....plus, doesn't it look cool to be dj'ing and having a laptop in between your decks! ;) |

Hmmm...
FS sounds like a really great tool that will no doubt be fantastic as newer versions come out.
But as stated earlier the fear of HD failure has to be equivalent to the nightmare where you wake up in a packed football stadium with no clothes on, assuming that bothers you ;) (If you were to rely on FS alone that is).
Must admit that I am a little disapointed to find out that it's all PVD uses his laptop for.
Push (Plastic Boy etc) on the other hand does live remixes of his tunes in his set (Not sure which software he uses though) and it sounds awesome.
PvD and DJ Craze can also afford top of the range laptops that have FS as their sole purpose which makes things run a little smoother not to mention the fact that they can also make pretty much any demands on the set up where they play. For us lesser mortals, we still have to put up with promoters/club managers going ape if we look at a monitor as if we would like to turn it to hear better.
This thread was interesting.
Cheers
