yes thats right conspiracies!!! lol i enterd a dj competiton last nite and not being bigheaded at all but my god i shud have won,i had to play first out of the 3 of us,which most of u know who have played out being first on is a bit harder than being on later. heres my tracklist
orkidea-unity
eclipse-little wonder(leama + moor remix)
andain-beautiful things(g & D unplugged mix)
holden-break in the clouds
motorcycle-as the rush comes
we only got half an hour and thats all i cud get played in that time!
which kinda sucked. my mixing was the best ive ever pulled of it was really tight. but the guy who won was playin steve muarano and a track on bxr about 3-4 years old,oh oh but he was the judges cousin!!! i mean thats sooo unfair rite. it was my first time playin out and im honestly not pissed off at all about not gettin through.because everyone on the place at sum point came up and shook my hand and said amazing set which really gives u such a nice feeling! but hats of to the guy who won |

| Don't worry mate, someone must love you and life is not always fair anyway :D Maybe this competition wouldn't bring you anything good... keep doing a good job and you'll eventually get the recognition you're working for sooner or later ;) |

I know what it feels like, and it's one of the best feelings I've ever felt too :) (my story was a bit different from yours though, obviously :p and by the way, I only got to play for 30 minutes too :D) |

I was at a friends house (which is kinda large) and we decided to play electronic music all night. Nevertheless, I had to work on several things (the lights, the music and to get things worse, I couldn't get a mixer), so I pre-recorded some "draft" mixes at home with drum'n'bass, acid techno, trance and pop. Not quite the real thing (it was pretty damn housemade, the best "Brazilian" style), but we were doing it just for fun anyway :p I played pop till midnight and then I dropped the first drum'n'bass tune. The crowd went mental. I was going crazy myself because I didn't know what the hell I was doing with all that paraphernalia (I had to take care of some lights, the smoke machine and the amp was about to fail for some reason). Nevertheless, the amp eventually stopped working after 30 minutes, so I had to re-plug some stuff and start it all over, but due to some technical failures, I wasn't able to mix anymore, so we just played pop all night long.
It may sound a bit childish and even too amateur, but really, when I realised what I was doing to all those people (there were about 60 people dancing, I believe)... that was just super.
One day I shall by a decent pair of turntables :D |

| well the place i played at was pretty cool, there was definatly close to 100-150 people there for sure, which for ur first time playin out is very daunting! but the second the announcer stopped talking and i started the first track it just felt natural! it was soo cool i thought i wud be really nervous the whole way thru but i wasnt at all! but if i had the choice i definatly wud have chosen to go last |

sorry to break it to you but that tracklist looks trite as hell and the songs don't really seem like they'd go well together.
so maybe you didn't win because your set wasn't original? |
