LoPass & Gating (in Fruity and VSTs)

LoPass filter and gating are both popular effects.
However, I have no idea where to find them.
I have FruityLoops, and z3ta+ and FM7.
Are these tools Fruity-specific or VST-specific?
Where can I find them in z3ta and FM7?
(z3ta only has a Phaser and a Cutoff in its main window...) |

| Theres a FRUITY FREE FILTER plugins that comes with the program that acts as any filter u want, just tweak the filter type knob to BandPass, LowPass, and such... |

there are 3 different ways of using a low-pass filter in fruity
1. If you click on the channel and then click on the INS tab, you should see a Fast LP tab there... tweaking the cut knob lets play around with it... also, you can click on the Fast LP tab to find that there are 4 other different types of low-passes to play around with
2. By adding a Fruity Free Filter in the FX panel
3. By adding a Fruity Filter in the FX panel (I don't like this one as much, not as precise as the fruity free filter) |

Yeah, but what i understood here is that he wants to use it on z3ta and fm7, so the only way todo it is though the FX channel, indeed.
But well, these plugins has very good build-in filters on them, already, so i dunno why not just use them...
Unless u want to use some diferent external filter like North Pole or Blueline, that does some other effects and crazy things. |

seems like ppl forgot about gating... i find the easiest way to do gating is by using the graph editor for the volume switch...
all you do is select the pattern you want the gating to be in effect with, right click on the volume control for whatever you want to gate, and then click on edit events... there, you can either mannualy draw it, or you can click on the top left icon thing of the graph editor, go to tools, and then LFO and play around until you have what you want |

Hum, are u sure its gating? I mean, what u told is a volume LFO.
From what i know, gating is an effect where u specify a threeshold, and nothing below that passes through. Good to remove noises and make stacatto sounds that stops suddenly.
Someone correct me if im wrong... (not 100% sure) |
