One of the last few of the summer....
this Sunday August 10
promise cherry beach afternoon soundsystem
this week's tentative schedule will include house, techno, dub,
chill-out world music, hip hop, dub reggae and perhaps a live cello.
2pm-10pm
here are directions,
Take Lakeshore Blvd east of Toronto, just past Parliament. Turn sound
south down Cherry Street, all the way to the parking lot at the end.
Walk west (right) along the beach and you'll hear music. And, biking
there is easy along the trails beside the lakeshore.
stuff to think about,
Please don't bring any more than you plan to take back out with you -
leave no trace. Glass anything is totally not a good idea.
Pack sunscreen and something to protect your head from the sun. Bring
something warm and something to sit on, something to drink, and maybe
some bug spray for the evening. And bring something to share.
If weather turns lousy the day of, call 323 0361 for the emergency
update message.

For anybody who hasn't been, it's definitely worth checking out. Grab some friends, drinks, a blanket, and a light jacket for after sunset and listen to great music, relax and watch the sun set over the city.
PS Nat, how did you find out about this, I don't see it on tribe anywhere which is normally my source of info for these events |

| Ended up going to this after hitting Taste of the Danforth around 5pm w/ Dallas, Eso, Julie_Spyder, Diginut & theNeonAlien, despite the gloomy skies. By some miracle, it never rained down by the beach, but it still deterred a lot of people from going, I'm sure. Smallest crowd I'd seen there yet. Still had a good time tho. The female dj that was on when we got there was ok, too much reggae, not my preference. Then a girl played a few pieces on her cello and sang. After, Peter Jarvis came on and got things grooving. Matt C and DJ Dam were gonna close things out, but we had other plans to keep and had to go at 7:15. Ran into phunky1 on the way out. (Hope u had fun bro). Likewise, Tara, I hope u and Vinder went and had fun. |

| yea! I had an awsome night, chilled out on my towel until Matt C came on, and then I couldn't stop dancing. The crowd was kinda small but the vibe was perfect. DJ Dam really got me going, he spun amazing psy trance, I loved it! I ended up staying the whole night, didn't really plan on doing that, but the music got me wanting more. The place over the fence light up some sweet fireworks, and that just made the night even better. Good Times!! |
