Vocoding my .WAV samples

I have some files in .WAV. They're vocal samples.
How do I vocode them?

Doesn't look like a vocoder is an effect, more like one of the synths in a VST such as FM7. Which means I can draw a melody with it, but not apply it to a voice sample for distortion (cause I can't load a .WAV into a synth).

How do you do it? :)

Well a vocoder is an effect. A carrier signal is modulated by a modulator signal. On good vocoders, you can usually control the modulator with MIDI (so, make melodies with it for example).

It all depends in what program you are working. Usually you apply it as an insert on your audio track.

Can't really tell you much more, unless I know what progs you use.

Thy - thanks for the reply.

I'm using Fruity & Wavelab.
And I already have the .WAV files with the source.
