Ok so today was an 'experience'.
No-one really likes the Boss at the M&S store where I work for the summer. He's a bit of a perfectionist and to be honest, a bit of an ass. He'll moan at the slightest thing and will never be grateful that we're busting our asses so he can earn profit.
So his moan today was about name tags. He said that everyone on the shop floor has to have a name tag so the customers know who theyre dealing with. In reality, its ing disturbing when people you dont know come up to you, call you by name, and tell you their life stories while you show them where in the store the luxury Omega-3 enriched large eggs are.
Since I'm only a 'Temporary Seasonal Staff' member (ie: the supervisors could probobly order me to my death), I dont get a name tag. But Mr. Boss doesnt accept that idea. Which meant that everyone that didnt have a name tag had to go into the back office and take one, whether it was their name or not.
Of course I was caught by an old lady on the way in to the office who wanted to know where the Earl Gray Tea was, so I was late and the best names had been snapped up. There were no Chris or Christopher name tags there, so none for me. To top it all off, all the male names were gone. Which left me up creek.
So in the end I opted to be called Denise for the day. It was either that, or be called Marjorie or Melissa. After an (almost forum like) ribbing from everyone else, with name calling including Christina as well as Denise, I was given a little piece of sticky paper to cover up the second 'e', thus making my name Denis for the day. :toothless I kinda hid the name tag in my shirt pocket so it looked like I had one from a distance, without it being possible to actually read it.
So where does this fit in with the catchy thread title. Well, its been proven that just about everyone will fall in love with an identical version of themselves of the opposite sex.
So technically my name was Denise for the day. Which was odd.
