great set. deep dark and hard. Started off slow but man was it ever banging when I left at three. (hehe had to be at work at 7 this morning) It was the frist time I had heard him live and I was so surprised. he really does live up to the legend. prog is SO much better in a club.

the venue on the other hand was a disaster. Why in gods name they bring these people to small clubs is beyond me. I get there at 12:30 (my fault I know i should have been earlier) get downstairs and find huge line to get upstairs where diggers is. I stood in line for maybe hour hour and a half before im like right in the front and they were saying they wernt letting any more people upstairs. Anyway so i just said bag I had missed much of it anyway and started dancing with people downstairs. the rest of the my night was great. room to dance sound was alright and people were loving it. And from what I heard it was pretty stuffy upstairs. so good time in the end.

MAN...what a night...AMAZING....to be honest...I actually Liked the venue....sure it was a bit hot....but because i got to the the club at 10:30, I had no problem getting to the front of the club where Digweed was mixing...and there was actually a cool breeze that could be felt...and there was actually room to dance there

there were quite a few amazing DuMaurier dancers who graced the crowd with their spineless acrobatics and ....WOOHOOO

Cudos go out to Alec and Stoyan (and his 2 GF's) for making this night the best party in Ottawa I have ever attended....the only bad part was the crazy hippie with the crazy ass dreads that smelled like dead skunk....he really needed a bath.

Digweed blew my mind with his track selection...such pumping bass I have yet to hear from anyone else (only matched by Sander K last January in montreal)...I made 3 track requests to Digweed and thankfully he did NOT play them...they would have ruined the party and the energetic mood of the crowd upstairs....man....what a DJ...to those of you who are considering seeing him in Montreal or Toronto...GO....do not hesitate...Go.....you wont be upset u did.

all in all...Great night...can't wait to see DIggers again

people make requests all the time in dj sets.. its pretty common dude. and the better djs dont plan them out they get a feel for the crowd and improvise.

Knowing a couple DJ's myself, when a DJ is preparing for a set, he picks his records and wants to create a mood or joureny for the night. Having people come up in the middle of the set
a) interupting (high fives ect) <---- Pet Peive.
b) requesting tracks
Does not do you any good. DJ's don't want to be bothered while they are mixing and when you request songs it makes them feel like what they have chose and are playing isn't good enough.

I know you want to think they are there for you but really they are there for themselves and the crowd, NOT YOU.

well i dont know who these dj's are. but maybe thats one reason djs like tiesto and armin are popular and they arnt..

I don't think its a major issue to do a request, timing is important tho. Some djs will really apreciate it if you request one of their old songs or remixes. Depends on the dj I guess, if a dj isn't interacting with the crowd, I would think its a bad idea to ask him something.

Ya and I guess it depends on the DJ. Someone like Diggers who hardly looks up from the tables is still popular and will probably never play a request. I find Trance DJ's more prone to play a request, I guess that is why I laughed at the fact that someone asked Digweed to play a tune they wanted. All points taken, cheers. :D

I agree. Some will play it some some wont. I do understand if they dont play it. But I cant see any harm in asking for a song. If that bothers a dj then I think they should really look into a new career. They certainly arnt there for themselves.
