Hi everybody,

I'm just about to get myself a DVD drive for my PC (finally)

but there is something i need to know first and you guys will probably be able to help out, as there are a lot of programs out there.

I'm looking for a realy good DVD viewer that has these 2 features.

1.) The ability to go frame by frame
(next frame/previous frame buttons)

2.) The ability to capture the frame that you are paused on to a BMP at the same res that you are viewing it in.

Thanks TA's.

windows media player can do all that actually, all you have to do is download the proper codecs... It will give you a "error downloading codec" everytime you play MPEG2 files but it will still work just fine. you can go frame by frame and screen captures can be done with anything (printscreen copies displayed image to clipboard)

Yeah i know how to take screenshots ive been doin' it for years but i prefer programs that can take caps becoz "Print Screen" causes the screenshot to come out black the first time you take it and then you have to do it again.

so..... can the program that the other guy mentioned capture or not?:conf:

----AND... as for windows media player, wehell, every version ive had has the frame by frame buttons disabled

indeed, and he likes bumping his own thread in the wrong forum.

obs
PowerDVD and WinDVD are the top two software players. Which one is best depends on who you ask. Be sure to get DVDGenie as well to compliment the aforementioned.
