Does blaster affect win98se also or just 2000/nt/xp?
I looked around the msupdate site bout could not find a patch for it.
Can anyone recommend a link

| it only affects nt/xp/2000/2003, 98 & me are safe |

Phat Unix (not linux etc.) networks might also be flooded and get downtime in the network ;/

Msblast affects only xp and 2000 it will run on other windows systems if you manauly plant the virus in the system.
the virius works by exploting a flaw in 2000 and XP letting it plant itself in your computer through port 153.
then the virus will start randomly sending it self to IP's that start with the first two octets that are in your ip.
If the date is after the 15 of the month. The virus will start a DOS attack on the windows update server since there is patch to cover the exploit. |

its port 135, ill asume a typo! just mentioned incase people block port 153 on their firewall

Will be intresting to see how microsoft cope with this attack... it definetly shows the need to encourage users to visit windows update more. |
