| For years the radio in the UK has just been playing the ususal pop/euro boring me-andering crap but now every time i put on the radio i always seem to hear R&B or rap which is even worse! Also mainstream music taste here is changing towards what americans listen too which is v.scary! Theres been an explosion of r&B/rap here and now more and more people seem to like greaser/greebo music (heavy metal/punk/goth etc...) ppl in the uk, what do u think? |

| I'm American and I'm aware of our crap mainstream music spreading like a disease across the world. You're right, pop-euro stuff can be boring but it is still a lot better than damn American R&B garbage. At least you guys got Radio 1, many electronic-loving Americans would give anything to have that. I think however that the disease of American music will continue to spread :(:(. I do hope however that the music will improve both here and the UK:) |

well, me being Croatian, and my friends there all seem to envy the "American Style".....it's my understanding many ppl from foreign countries wanna do like the Americans.....so what better to do than listen to the most popular music here amongs ppl our age: Rap, R&B.....anyways....

| For crying out loud, listen to music you like and stop complaining about everybody else's taste!!! They aren't telling you what to like, so why are you trying to influence them ... if you don't like the stuff on the radio, then DON'T LISTEN TO IT ... is that so hard? AAGGRRHH. |

Well, skywarp, since we are in the minority and THEY are in the majority, the fact that we express our opinion about mainstream music is quite all right. We're all entitled to our opinions. In fact if it was the other way around, if THEY were trying to influence us, that would be a little worse. But all we are is a very small group of people not even convincing the whole world about trance, as you say, but rather commenting -- among ourselves -- on 99.9% of what's out there. And that is quite all right. |

Although trance is not as big as it was back in 99, take a look a the brightside cos not every tom, dick and harry is jumping on the trance bandwagon now and pushing out all those cheesy commercial 'trance' tunes..
As you can tell r&b and hip hop is heading (if not already) towards that direction - being too commercial.. |
