Hi There,
I was wondering what's the best way for mixing progressive trance:
1) when a song is playing (master) you slowly put the fader up from the "slave" song with the low tunes closed and the mid en high tunes open.
or
2) when a song is playing (master) you put the fader from the "slave" song up really fast. With the low tunes closed and the mid en high tunes open.
I hope you will understand it
Thankzzz |

| typically for trance i like to go slow but unless the slave song has some kickass features like heavy bass what i do is i fade fast with the bass up and the mids low and high in da middle. If you work it right it sounds good. |

Well it all depends on what im spinning...
ie. stuff like DJ Tiesto, Pvd i tend to go slow keep the bass down low when i bring in the track and high and mids in the middle and bring up the hids first and switch the bass lines...
but if im spinning faster more up beat stuff
ie. Solid Sleep - Club Attack..Ferry Corsten then i tend to mix faster and keep the highs in the middle mids up 3/4's up and swtich the bass lines but with a faster transition...
but thats just me :D
though i think you should creat your own style...you know do what you think sounds like fly to you...
thats what makes a DJ unique... |

I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, but DJing is ALL about creativity, uniqueness and style.
This may sound kinda cheesy, but imagine your mix is you, and your records are your clothes, and how you mix them is your style of matching your clothes.
Express your style the way you want. |
