i'll have to give this set a listen.
maybe it'll spur me to prefer trance once again.

edit: escee, what's the best set u've heard this year?
escee
best set ive heard this year is Danny Howells Live at club red light, 3 hour monster, really good

best trance is avb's essential mix

that danny howells one is a pretty scarce set.

care to share it with a 56ker? =p

Very nice mixin and the NRG is up with da best.. but wait.. he is the best... hmmm /me chinstrokes...

Anyways... wat you guys think of his new song?

Paul van Dyk ft. Vega 4 - Time Of Our Lives

It's got me hooked :D
Agree that there could probably be less vocals, but I don't mind em (one of the very few male vocals I can stand..)

Paul is back in action,

ive noticed every year aroudn this time he goes all driving and hard! with the likes of rosenmontags last year which carried on to his australian tour, playign tracks like "the crowd song" "88 to piano" etc... then he sought of goes missing in action until now! i assuming thats him doing his productions

Yet again this year pauls in blitzed me! more energetic signature style pvd trance! This energy set is amazing as is the similar Nature one set, but also check out the "Streetparade" set which was the day after energy.

Time of our lives is a great track in my opinion, i would love another version more like "solid sleep club attack" style bassline, more driving but its still great.

i love "Crush" this does something to me, so powerfull and the vocals give me goosbumps, and when a track does that you know its tha .

Pauls live sets are amazing, so dynamic and when u compare him live to his weekly soundgarden sets then compare it to his CD's then you realise the many faces of pvd which makes this man such a great assest to dance music.

thats my 2 cents

Got tissue?

Its not a bad set by PVD, best ive heard from him this year (except when he played here in Sydney!) but the set doesnt rate in my top 5 of this year!!

Sorry but it doesnt even come close to Armin B2B Ferry @ Godskitchen Dublin or James Zabiela Live @ Lot 33 canberra, now those are wicked sets!!! Still good though....

u shoulda been there Leigh - it was even more amazin actually seein him play that set!!!!

but, back to PVD.....I love this set - it's owning my car MP3 player rite now, along with his Mixmag CD....very very nice :)

nice post waxology - agree with u 100% on everythin!!!!

as for Time Of Our Lives, I have to admit I hated it the first few times I listened to it - it sounded like some hideously cheesy piece of rubbish some 12yo had churned out........BUT, the other night in my car I had one of those "I hate this track, so why in hell am I bopping along to it??" moments...hehehe - I realised it's actually grown on me quite a lot....it's definitely one of those tracks you have to give yourself time to warm up to :)

btw, how hilarious is the German MC who introduces Paul at the 3 minute mark??? hahahaha - sounds like he's about to have a stroke..."Dj...Paul....Van....Dyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyke!!!!" *lol* how could u not love a set that starts off so enthusiastically?? :D

Personally i rate zabielas set from perth better than that canberra one. Shame it wasnt ripped. How did the one canberra get recorded? I imagine this didnt happen...

Guy: Hey James mind if i stick the plugs in to the recording outputs?
James: off.
