Using a JP-8080 from within FL 3.56

Hey guys, I just purchased a JP-8080 and I'm having some trouble connecting it. I've been reading through the manual but it hasn't helped much.
Would any fruity and JP owners be so kind to write up a short list of steps one should follow to set it up right.
My soundcard is a Delta Audiophile 2496 and I've got the proper cables for it and a midi cable for the synth. As mentioned in the topic, my main sequencer is Fruityloops 3.56. Help is *greatly* apprecaited.
Thanks in advance! |

Try this.
Keyboard MidiOut -> PC MidiIn
Pc Midiout -> Jp-8080 MidiIn
Jp8080 Audio -> Pc Linein
Then just open a Midiout channel in fruity.

Make sure your Line-in is turned on. |

Thanks Rob! Got most of it figured out. You didn't specify that I had to map a port to match the midi out port ;)
Do you by anychance have a JP-8080 preset for the Midi-Out controller? One that has the knobs defined?
Also how would you run multiple instances of it with different patches on each?
How do you specify which channel in FL it will use? I tried changing the channel but all it did was give me a different sound? |

I never had to map my port so that's why I forgot about it. :tongue2
Nope, don't have any presets. Never got that thing working. :/
As far as I know u can't run different patches at the same time besides the Lower n Upper patches.
Changing the channels on the midiout interface just makes it switch between the Lower and Upper part on the Jp.
Ch 1 = Upper
Ch 2 = Lower
Perhaps someone else here knows more then me about these things as I don't know much about this stuff. heh. :wtf:

I did not realize how easy it would be to make a preset! I've mapped all the functions onto knobs and sliders and labeled them appropriately. The only thing you do not have access to is changing of the waveforms, or any other toggable features (like panel select, keymode).
It really does simplify the job a lot, it basically makes the controller act as a vst!
Here it is:

PS. How do you route a MidiOut controller to an FX channel? |

Cool man! Cheers for the file!
I can't use it tho, as I would have to unhook the midicable to my keyboard to use it. Don't have a real midi interface, so I can only use the gameport on my pc. :/

U mean, like putting Fruitys internal effects on the Jp?
Don't think that's possible as it's only midi signals coming out of fruity.
I wish there where VST effects that u could run synths and other hardware instruments through via the line-in input. Cuz that would work.
Dunno if that excist tho. |

| Yep, to use external FX. It seems like a very essential feature, everybody knows to get the most out of the sound it needs effects. I'll have to dig around and see if its possible, if not I'd be greatly disappointed :( |
