---------- BEGIN PRESS RELEASE ----------
August 14, 2003
For Immediate Release:
Nice Kitty Music Entertainment Ltd. Purchases San Diego, California based Trance/Breaks Record Label - Nth Degree Records.
Nice Kitty Music Entertainment Ltd. (parent company of Black Tiger Recordings) announced today that it has purchased Nth Degree Records out of San Diego. NKME has purchased the complete catalog and rights to previous and future record releases that Nth Degree Records has signed with its artists.
Nth Degree Records will fall along side Black Tiger Recordings under the NKME umbrella and serve the progressive, trance, and beaks DJ with fine records from producers around the world.
This deal solidifies a long held relationship between the two companies. Nth Degree Records and Black Tiger Recordings produced in co-operation the popular “N.A.T.O.” Online Radio series which featured the labels founders from both Nth Degree and Black Tiger Recordings as well as guests such as DJ Virgen ( San Diego, California native and signed to Black Tiger Recordings), DJ Larson and R-Man (Los Angeles, California), Earl Von Bye (Calgary, Alberta; also signed to Black Tiger Recordings), plus many local San Diego DJs including Blue 42, Saint Paul, DJ Jolt, DJ Defiant and Intuit.
Kelly Lee Myers of Nice Kitty Music Entertainment Ltd. in Vancouver said the deal “makes perfect sense with respect to making sure new talent from the United States, and Canada plus our allies over seas are heard on quality records. Nth Degree’s catalog and future releases of artists drives that point home”
Andrew E. Muchmore of Nth Degree in San Diego spoke of the acquisition as “a totally beneficial arrangement for both companies. Nth Degree’s direction in the trance, progressive and breaks markets, matched with Nice Kitty Music’s distribution and marketing capabilities allows for things to move forward not only in North American markets but around the world.”
Furthermore Nth Degree label founder Infinity (Andrew E. Muchmore) stated, “The amount of talent coming out of the west coast of North America is incredible and now with this deal having taken place, those artists have more options in producing solid records that will get heard world wide.”
Look for the upcoming 12” record releases of…
- The re-release of “Voice of Reason: The Remixes” – by Deecoy (aka Unknown Source) vs. Statyk
- “Exhale” by Montreal’s San Mehat (with a remix from Brad Copland)
”At the Gates EP” – by Finland’s Incolumis (includes At the Gates, North Stone, and Karma)
- “Afterhours” – by DJ Lithium (Includes Afterhours and Sunday Mornings plus a remix.)
More releases from both labels under Nice Kitty Music Entertainment Ltd. are being planned for late 2003 and early 2004.
