Hi There,

I'm gonna buy some things for producing my own tracks, but I can't decide what.

- Roland xv 5080;
- Korg Triton Rack;
- Roland 909 grooveboxe.

Please help me,

Thankz
D South
Here is my set up which I find it to be very productive:

Roland JP-8000
Yamaha CS1x
Boss DR-660 Drum machine
E-mu Orbit V2
Behringer Mixer and Compresor

A computer with Fruity/Cubase/Acid/Sonar......
And many VST instruments
And Also several Sample CD's (Great money savers)

If you wanted a veriety of sounds get som sample Cds.

As for synths An access Virus b will do or many are saying that the waldorf MicroQ is also a great buy.

As with midi... if your going to get more then2 midi instruments make sure you get your self a 4x4 midisport or 8x8 because I have a 2x2 and its just not working out anymore in my set up...
hey cheggy
Hey, I don't think any of those are really going to be the best things you could buy to start production.

The roland XV-5080 makes more classical sounds, like orchestral instruments. The triton is pretty similar to the 5080 also. The 909, well, I have never used one, but it's not something I would buy. It would be better to buy each piece individually than getting a groove box.

Have you got a good computer? Get a nice sound card, like an audiophile, or a delta 4/4 + midi interface, and then get some software, like reason and Cubase and some VSTi's. Then maybe a hardware synth if you want, like a Virus, or a waldorf q, a jp-8080. There's heaps out there and a midi controller as well.

My best advice though, would be to start with reason 2.5 and then learn how all the devices work and how to put everything together. Then, once you understand everything, if you still want to, start moving into hardware. But as far as using an xv5080 or a triton as your mainstay synth, I would suggest something else.
