In the USA "college" is where you can earn a 4 year degree. The only main difference between a "college," and "university" is that the Uni does research. Then there are art/fashion/photography schools etc.
I want to go here some day:

thnx, now i know:) but our University edu is 4+2 years and colleges have no rights to give you a high (only higher) edu diploma. Furthermore the edu in college is only 3 years and employer would rather choose an employee with Uni diploma.
though i'm still studying genetics (almost over) i'll enter commercialising/marketing OR english next year... |

In the U.S. the use of the terms is different than a lot of other places in the world, I am not sure why, but here in the US there are many 4 year colleges which would be considered "university" in other countrys.
A college is also a subdivision of many universities....At the Univ of Illinois, for instance, there are several: College of Engineering, College of Fine and Applied Arts, College of Liberal Arts & Siences, College of Agricultrural and Consumer Economic Studies, College of Education just to name a few.
Oh I am gonna be late for work...

*Currently working as a Network LAN Supervisor, can't stand it at all (especially all the bitching and moaning of sales dept. who can't figure out the basic functions of a cpu like rebooting). Driving me up the f$cking wall - feel like a drone plugging myself in every morning as I sit and stare at this computer terminal. So I'm taking a chance by taking out a huge loan and going back to school. |

Nice! Good to be aquainted with a local (somewhat). I still live in Lawrence at this time, but the Mrs. and I will be moving up to KC soon. Can't say I know too many bars down in that area, with the exception of the Plaza and Westport area. You still live around these parts? |

nah, I dropped out of grad school and moved to Chicago 2 years ago. I used to live on 46th overlooking the back door to the GAP on the Plaza. Was a good place to live...I paid half as much a month for rent in KC as I do in the Chicago burbs.
If you haven't found a place yet I recommend you give George W Miller company a call. They were my landlord and I have no complaints.
