Just happened to see this today @ Guitar Center. Regular price is $750.00. I wonder if this means a new mixer is in the pipeline? Probably a new high-end model, and the 600 will drop in price. Just speculation of course, but it seems reasonable.
On a side note, does anyone else think the channel faders on the 600 feel loose, even a bit sloppy compared to the 500? The 500 offers a bit of resistance... feels much better to me. Of course neither can compare to the Rane MP2016 rotary I've had the pleasure of practicing on lately....

u can get a used 600 for ~ 700 on ebay...
i have a 500, its good, but i hate the headfone cue options... |
