How does the JP8000 sound ? Was that used by Cygnus X in the original ? |

| I can bet my right arm that it is a JP8000 they use for that sound....or hmm I was listening to the rank 1 remix of it so that's prolly what rank 1 uses anyway :) |

So how does the supersaw wave from the JP8000/8080 look like ?
Ive read its good for leads too, and used by lost of people. |

imo the spuerwave is a nice sound but it has been way to overused...I think it's time to move on and create a new sound in trance so I stay away from the supersaw as much as I can :)
but that's just how I see the whole thing :) |

Rank 1 definitely used the JP8xxx for their SuperSaw sound. The trick is setting the first OSC waveform to supersaw and the 2nd to a noise waveform, then simply reduce the volume of the 2nd OSC to about 20-25%. From then on, all you do is increase the resonance to about half way.
PS. Whoever posted the midi of Superstrings is incorrect, it's missing the lowest octave. |

There is a low octave note there. At F0. At least in my example. But sounds like Rank1 dubs it with a bass.

You can clearly hear notes bellow F0, very low.
One thing I forgot to mention is that you also need to crank up the finetune to get that higher pitched sound. |
