Whats the deal with Jason Midro?
JOOF spends 5hrs tearing the place apart, leaving the crowd pumped up and screaming for more and midro comes on and plays all this mello-yellow stuff. He almost put me to sleep. If I wasn't still on the joofcoaster I would been out the front of crown looking at the flame towers, cos that would have been more exciting.
I was waiting for a slinky re-play when he got hammered by all those bottles. |
can't imagine Midro playing soft??? like what stuff??? |
|

| he was playing uplifting trance for the time that i saw him...bout 30 mins worth.. |

Don't get me wrong he was spinning some good tracks, but not what i'd expect from midro. Was sort of uplifting trance but not. It was more suttle.Very very mellow. He usually plays some pretty hard stuff which is good cos he usually closes and thats right when you need it when you follow a set like joof's.
I've never seen him at BASS so i don't know what he usually spins but his style didn't really suit the tunes. |

Cos it was too freakin busy. I spent most of the time at the back of the dancefloor or around the sides. I might have made some effort if I'd known there was gonna be a crew at the front, but there didn't seem to be much of a response in the roll-call thread so I didn't think many of you bastards would be there. :-/
Thanks for the tracklist though. Time to give the modem a bit of a work out I think. :D |
pffft forget the roll-call thread, it should have gone without saying that stipsy and myself would have been there! and like paul said there was a fair bit of room, well compared to other qbh gigs anyway!!
marky mark u should have been there.....argh it was incredible!
midro played madagascar which was mad, mark james said he was gonna play some classics and trance stuff, he prob got told to play like that hehe. and mark james dropped cowpander, so that was alright! also played a remix of satisfaction hehe, which im not ashamed to admit i liked :p
argh what a night :eyespop: |

Renegade: i thought there was plenty of room man, compared to last experience, which was PvD the place was perfect, room, the air con was imaculate although if u werent in centre the sound was a bit ed to the sides :p |
Ya reckon? I wasn't at PVD so I'm not sure how busy that was, but it was still almost as busy as Sasha in November (probably the last time I went there?) but at least they had the top levels open then. It was better towards the end of j00fs set when people started sitting round the sides, but after Mark James finished and j00f started we pretty much got forced off the dancefloor and had to spend like 2 hours underneath the stairs (pretty much the only place there was room to dance).

Ah, I'm not ashamed to say I love even the radio edit of that track. They play it like three times a night on Nova and I can't help but hum along to the chick-chicka ber-wow wow wow bit (yes that bit  ) when it comes on. Also do a search in the humour section of the boards because someone posted the video clip which is worth watching even if you hate the track - en hot. :D |

Well finally got power back today so i can say something that is long overdue from the weekend. (House nearly blew away in nowra!)
Joof is the man. That was easily the best night out i have eva had. Incredible music, great club and super loud soundsystem. Sorry Armin but this was better than your set at Gods last year and i never thought i would say that.
Big thanks to philby and stipsy for telling me the names of most of the tracks he played. And extra big thanks to philby for bringing his copy of legato on vinyl and extra big thanks to John00 for playing it during his set. It was def one of my best moments hearing that song out, and does it bigger justice than in the lounge room.
John00 was just going off behind the decks and it just brought everyone in the qbh to the point of :eyespop:
Mark James played an excellent set before joof but im not convinced about cowpander. I don't think it does either of the originals justice but hey it was ok.
As for Jason Midro, all i can say is in the time i lined up to get my jacket he played one "classic" - Dutch Force - Deadline and even today that is a magical Track.
Well everyone who wasn't there you missed out bigtime. Don't think that quality trance stops with armin, pvd and tiesto cause John00 is every bit as good as them and imo better.
