I've gotten into dnb lately and have heard of prog-trance and prog-house and prog-breaks. yea a bunch.
COuld any1 gimme a few titles to look for?? I'm a serious tranc-lover but I like the sound of dnb. so I would like tracks that exhibit the differences between the genres....cause I can't tell what's what between them yet.
so what's good in prog-trance, prog-house, and prog-breaks??
gimme titles!!!!... as many as u want!:conf: :happy2: :D :tongue2  |

I'm a bit confused but I guess you asked for some dnb genres... here are some examples and a brief description
Old School Rave: Early drum'n'bass, back in the time when people weren't really concerned on being too serious.
Prodigy - Everybody's in the place (155 and rising)
Acen - Window in the Sky (Monolythikmaniak mix)
Atmoshperic jungle: Easy-listening stuff
Anything from LTJ Bukem...
Nookie - Continental Drift
Darkcore: Early darkstep, back in the time when darkstep wasn't around :D
Q Project - Champion Sound One of my faves
Darkstep: Darker, harder and fast enough
Dillinja - Nasty Ways
Ragga: you've sure got a clue of what it is from the name
Shy FX feat. UK Apache - Original Nuttah
Techstep: Drum'n'bass with a techy feel.
Crossfire - Hydra
Sta & Paul B - Gush
Hardstep: Drum'n'bass when drum and bass are trying to decide which one is more distorted :p
EZ Rollers - Meatball
Trancestep: Drum'n'bass with a tranzy feel.
Sta & Paul B - Secrets Inside
There are many other genres, but I don't want to confuse you too much :D
edit: As for the difference between prog trance and prog house... don't bother. Prog house is house being tranzy and prog trance is trance being housey... eventually the DJ's who play one genre also play the other and they're progressively becoming the same thing :p j/k, but not far from the truth. |

Well... trancestep. John B produces some "Epic" tunes, but they're still too close to ordinary drum'n'bass in my opinion (the same for his "trance'n'bass" CD from mixmag... look for "trance and bass" in the search engine and you'll see some threads about it ;)).
There's the tune I posted from Sta & Paul B which sounds trancier, and is my concept of good trancestep. There's a tune from Concord Dawn remixed by Klute that is nice too, but I forgot its name :p
This area still has a great potential to be developed in my opinion (reason why I produce trancestep myself)... but there's not much good stuff as of yet. There are some gems, but not many :) (as far as I know) |

I had uploaded some tracks in the beginning of the year in order to get some feedback, but the server forced me to delete them after a while. Since then, I've been working on the tracks and I haven't uploaded anything else yet because I've been too busy with studies lately and I want to spend more time on the tunes (I'm a perfectionist :p).
However, when I upload something, I'm sure gonna add a link in my sig with all the info :) |
