5AM at Spybar Review

Rocked up about 2am. Was pretty late as I was obliged to pop into bass to see my mate Stevie B play.
Thought Dave Begic played a really nice set of uplifting tunes. Only heard about 30 minutes of him but was well impressed. The only ones I recognised were
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let the light shine him
Insigma - Open your eyes
I think Jizza (Tha) and his mate Matt (think thats his name) were there cheering Dave on. Had a few close calls with the suspended decks, they looked pretty fragile and think those lesbian chicks may have bumped them while Dave was playing, but he did a great job to save it as it was right in the mix.
Next up was Pete Haviland.
I hadn't heard him play before but I was well impressed with his mixing and crowd reaciton. He was havin it large to say the least.
He had heaps of vocal support from Leah and Harry who were goin' nuts when he played
Queen vs. Vanguard - Flash
followed by
Clokx - Clocks.
Think he told me he made an edit of the tune on his computer and I couldn't really understand what he meant. But a true performer.
Then Alby Mangler finished off proceedings with a little bit of help from myself. Thanks top Tracey for selecting the tunes. We played:
Circ - Destroy she Said
Master and Nickson - Out there (vocal mix)
DT8 - Destination (Jurgen Mix)
040 - Dreams (Summer 040 Mix)
Jan Johnson - Calling your name (Neo & Farina Mix).
and a few others.
Unfortunately missed Christos (again) sorry dude) and also Duncan and JPL. But heard all rocked it and played really well.
Overall it was a great nite, with the highlight being the lesbian chicks going for it on the dancefloor (received good crowd reaction for that display) and for me the set by Dave Begic which was well rockin'. |

as the rush comes, epic, airwave, solex, smooth, let the light shine in, sum awesome mix of north pole... man if these songs dont make you moist then there's something wrong you (and i'm usually the most hopeless with rememberin' tunes - that's how good it was). coupled with those skanky-ass leso's, i think i was close to embarassing myself by nights end.
sorry to duncs, steve and the other guys i didn't get to see but by all reports nothing short of usual 5am standards. :) |

For those that missed out, apparently on Saturday nite at Viper this hot looking piece of bootang was flashing her set for everyone to see. No pictures but word from the manglers is that she were pretty tight!!
anyone would think that we're in brazil, I'm not complaining though!! |
